TYPE I SCHOLARSHIPS
Each student filing an application will be automatically considered for the following scholarships.
WILBRAHAM-HAMPDEN FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIPS (Several @ $1,000 each)
- Accepted to a two-year or four-year college
- Academic standing is a consideration
- Financial need is a strong consideration
JERRY A. BADGER SCHOLARSHIP ($500)
- Good academic standing
- Participation in some type of community work, such as scouts, YMCA/YWCA, or church, to be elaborated on in the essay
KATE BELSKY “DO BETTER” SCHOLARSHIP ($1000) (NEW!)
- Criteria TBA
ROBERT H. BOHLKE MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP ($1,000)
- Senior who intends to pursue a degree in the Social Science
JOHN S. BORDENUK SCHOLARSHIP (2 @ $500)
- Awarded to a senior interested in the field of horticulture or agriculture
- Potential as determined by an essay and recommendation by the Guidance Department
- Activities, honors and awards are contributing factors
- Intends to pursue a career in one of the following: horticulture, agriculture or business
- Good academic standing
SHAWN COURTNEY MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP (2 @ $1,000)
- Senior boy and Senior girl
- Attending a 4-year college
- Has a family member currently serving or who has served in the military
EDDIE FALLON AND JONNY GREGOIRE “LIVE BIG” SCHOLARSHIP ($1,000)
- Captain of athletic team (preferred) or club leader
- Expresses passion in pursuing college degree (no specific major) or vocational training
- Demonstrates genuine and consistent care and concern for others
- Known for compassion and kindness
- C+ average/both merit and financial need based
JOHN M. FLYNN MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP ($1,500)
- Presented annually to a senior boy or girl in memory of John M. Flynn and his strong sense of community service
- Hampden resident
- Active in community service – to be elaborated on in the essay
- Accepted to a two-year or four-year college
- Good academic standing
- Financial need is a consideration
DR. PAUL C. GAGLIARDUCCI SCHOLARSHIP ($500)
- Senior boy or girl who contributed to the betterment of the school and/or class
- Student must have exhibited good citizen status
- Student maintained passing grades
GARVEY/POST OFFICE PARK YOUNG ENTREPRENEURIAL SCHOLARSHIP AWARD ($1,000)
- Must have maintained a weighted GPA of 3.0 or higher
- Participated in an Internship program at MRHS
- Participant in the Entrepreneur program/have taken the entrepreneur class
GFWC WILBRAHAM JR. WOMEN’S CLUB ($500)
- Awarded to a Senior boy or Senior girl
- Must have maintained a weighted GPA of 3.0 or above
- Active in community service – to be elaborated on in the essay
- Resident of Hampden or Wilbraham
- Plans to attend a four-year college
GREATHORSE SCHOLARSHIP FUND (2 @ $3,500)
- Plans to pursue a business degree
- Maintained a GPA of 3.7 or higher
- Student must be a Varsity athlete
- Awarded to one Senior from Wilbraham and one Senior from Hampden
THE WILLIAM AND ANNA KOBER SCHOLARSHIP ($250)
- Plans to pursue a career in Teaching, Nursing, or Physical Therapy
- Demonstrates leadership in sports
- Financial need is a consideration
THE LISA (WILSON) LEARY SOCCER SCHOLARSHIP ($1,500)
- Senior boy or Senior girl
- Varsity soccer athlete
- Attending a 4-year college
- Preference given to an Education major
- Financial need is a consideration
LUSO FEDERAL CREDIT UNION SCHOLARSHIP ($1,000)
- Good academic standing – minimum 3.5 GPA to be considered
- Active in your community
- Involved in extracurricular school activities (not necessarily sports)
- Financial need will be a consideration
HAROLD MILLER MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP ($250)
- Scholarship awarded to a Senior who consistently displays school spirit through the effort put forth in athletics
and/or academics and is an enthusiastic member of the Minnechaug community.
THE NEW VALLEY BANK SCHOLARSHIP ($1,000)
- Senior boy or Senior girl
- Demonstrated interest in finance or entrepreneurship
PIONEER VALLEY FINANCIAL GROUP SCHOLARSHIP ($1,000)
- Active in your community
- Active in extracurricular activities (not necessarily sports)
- Good academic standing – minimum of 3.5 GPA to be considered
- Financial need will be a consideration
PROJECT BLUEBERRY SCHOLARSHIP ($1,000)
- Plans to pursue Video/Film Producing, Journalism, or Writing, or major in English
- Financial need is a consideration
HENRY AND JANE PROTHERO SCHOLARSHIP (2 @ $1,500)
- Strong academic achievement
- Financial need is a consideration
THE WHSF FRANCIS S. PYCHEWICZ SCHOLARSHIP ($1,000)
- To be presented annually to a Senior boy or girl in honor of WHSF Treasurer Emeritus Francis S. Pychewicz for his years of service to the Foundation
- Senior who intends to major in Engineering or Computer Science
- Progressive improvement in academic standing during high school
- Demonstrated dedication to community service
- Financial need a strong consideration
RECREATION ASSOCIATION OF HAMPDEN (RAH) SCHOLARSHIP (2 @ $250)
- Senior boy and Senior girl who participated in Town of Hampden sponsored sports
- Hampden residents
- Sports experience must be elaborated on in an essay
THE FLORENCE SHEEHAN MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP ($500)
- Interested in the field of Education, preferably Special Education
- A GPA of 3.0 or higher; waived if student is on an IEP or in special education classes
- Active in sports, community or is employed
FATHER JOSEPH M. SORANNO ANNUAL SCHOLARSHIP (1 @ $1,000, 1@$500)
- Member of St. Cecilia Parish
- Active in the Parish community – to be elaborated on in essay
- Engaged in their community
- Good academic standing

TROMBLEY ASSOCIATES INVESTMENTS SCHOLARSHIP ($1,000)
- Plans to attend a four-year college
- Member of National Honor Society (NHS)
- Played a Varsity sport in high school

- Minimum of 2.75 GPA
- Senior interested in Medical or health field
- Involved in clubs, sports or is employed

- Intends to pursue a career in Business
- Completed Entrepreneurship or Business class at MRHS
- Employment history considered
